The Ultimate Destiny 2 Titan Void Build for PvE and PvP (Season 22)

We’re approaching the midpoint of the year after the release of Lightfall, the latest expansion for Destiny 2. With enough time passed to assess the revamped mod system, we can now compile a list of the most powerful Meta builds.

So, what makes a build truly exceptional? Well, that depends on your preferences. If you’re a PvE enthusiast, you’ll want builds that excel in burst damage and survivability. PvP players, on the other hand, might prioritize faster recovery and agile movement options.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the world of Void Titans in Destiny 2 and explore the finest PvE and PvP builds.

The Best Void Titan PvE Build: Purple Reign

The saying goes, “the best offense is a good defense,” and this Void Titan build exemplifies just how impervious you can be. While it may not offer the same level of ability spam as Arc or Solar Titan builds, it compensates by providing a wave of Overshields, Volatile rounds, and explosive combat. Though it doesn’t heavily rely on Exotic armor, the Helm of Saint-14 is the centerpiece of this build.

Required Gear

  • Exotic Armor: Helm of Saint-14 (Helm)

The Helm of Saint-14 will blind any enemies that dare cross its path while granting an Overshield to both you and your allies within its protective bubble. Additionally, if you experiment with this build’s playstyle, you can also blind nearby enemies when using the Sentinel Shield block super.

Class Setup

  • Super: Ward of Dawn
  • Grenade: Vortex grenades
  • Class Ability: It’s your choice, but Rally Barricade provides faster reload times
  • Melee: Shield Throw
  • Jump: Catapult Lift

The Rally Barricade is your optimal choice, and while Shield Throw may seem unconventional, it triggers explosions in this build. Prepare for devastating ranged melee attacks!

Aspects

  • Bastion: This aspect grants an Overshield to you and your allies when casting your Super and Barricade. The Overshield from your Barricade will regenerate and have an extended duration while you’re positioned behind it, so make good use of this defensive strategy in combat.
  • Controlled Demolition: Hitting a target with a Void ability or Volatile explosion causes them to become Volatile, resulting in an explosion upon their demise.

Fragments

  • Echo of Expulsion: Makes Void ability final blows trigger explosions
  • Echo of Exchange: Grants grenade energy on melee final blows
  • Echo of Instability: Grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons after defeating targets with grenades
  • Echo of Undermining: Applies Weaken to targets damaged by your Void grenades

Armor Mods

In addition to Stat Mods, focus on maximizing ability uptime to fully embrace the Grenade, Melee, and Class Ability spam playstyle of this build.

  • Head Mods: I recommend Ashes to Assets, Harmonic Siphon, and Heavy Ammo Finder for generating more orbs, super energy, and heavy ammo
  • Arm Mods: I recommend Grenade Kickstart, Harmonic Loader, and Impact Induction for increased grenade energy and faster Void weapon reload speed
  • Chest Mods: I recommend Emergency Reinforcement and your preferred damage reduction mods. Emergency Reinforcement is currently extremely potent and essential for high-level content
  • Leg Mods: I recommend Void Weapon Surge, Recuperation, and Orbs of Restoration. These mods grant additional Void weapon damage, health, and ability recharge
  • Mark Mods: I recommend Time Dilation, Bomber, and Outreach for prolonged Armor Charge duration and reduced cooldowns on grenades and melee charges

Weapons

  • Kinetic Slot: Witherhoard (recommended) While not mandatory, Witherhoard, a kinetic slot grenade launcher, inflicts damage over time. It’s an excellent choice for consistent DPS, maintaining a constant stream of grenades, and overall enjoyable gameplay.
  • Energy Slot: The choice is yours, but Funnelweb can facilitate rapid Volatile spread, while Doom of Chelchis from King’s Fall, with its Firefly and Dragonfly perks, can create explosive chain reactions.
  • Heavy Slot: The choice is up to you. Currently, Grenade Launchers and Rockets are favorable, but Linear Fusion Rifles remain strong contenders. Regardless of your choice, make sure to go with a Void Heavy weapon to fully synergize with the build.

Stat Distribution

Focus on maximizing Resilience and Recovery for enhanced survivability and Barricade uptime. A minimum of 60 Discipline is recommended, but higher values are even better. The remaining stats can be allocated according to your preference.

Conclusion

This build requires a bit more finesse when it comes to ability usage, but as long as you support your teammates, it can undoubtedly compete with the top-tier builds. I recommend testing it out in a Legendary or Master Lost Sector, or even taking it for a spin in a couple of Grandmaster Nightfalls to see how it performs and what adjustments you might want to make!

The Best Void Titan PvP Build: Suppressing Force

This PvP-oriented Void Titan build aims to emphasize Subclass 3.0 abilities more than most other PvP builds. While it may seem challenging, the primary strategy revolves around aggressive playstyle, constant Shoulder Charging, frequent Barricade deployment, and relentless Suppressor Grenade spamming.

Required Gear

  • Exotic Armor: Peregrine Greaves (legs)

Unleash your Shoulder Charge like never before! With these boots, jumping just before initiating a Shoulder Charge grants extra damage, granting you the ability to one-hit-kill most opponents in PvP.

Class Setup

  • Super: Ward of Dawn
  • Grenade: Suppressor Grenade
  • Class Ability: Your choice, but Towering Barricade is recommended
  • Melee: Shield Bash
  • Jump: Catapult Lift

This build thrives on Overshields, Shoulder Charges, and Suppressor Grenades. Just remember to switch if you were previously engaged in PvE content.

Aspects

  • Bastion: This aspect grants an Overshield to you and your allies when casting your Super and Barricade. The Overshield from your Barricade will regenerate and have an extended duration while you’re positioned behind it, so take full advantage of your Barricade during combat.
  • Offensive Bulwark: While you have an Overshield or are inside a Ward of Dawn, your grenade energy charges significantly faster, your melee range and damage increase, and melee final blows extend the duration of your Overshield.

Fragments

Though these fragments won’t have a profound impact in PvP compared to other game modes, they can still provide an edge over opponents, especially those utilizing simpler builds.

  • Echo of Expulsion: Makes Void ability final blows trigger explosions
  • Echo of Exchange: Grants grenade energy on melee final blows
  • Echo of Dialtion: While crouched, you sneak faster and gain enhanced radar
  • Echo of Domineering: After suppressing a target, you gain significantly increased mobility for a short time, and your equipped weapon is reloaded. Defeating suppressed targets creates a Void Breach.

Armor Mods

In addition to Stat Mods, focus on stabilizing and handling your weapons for maximum effectiveness. These mods provide bonuses to weapon stats and ability recovery.

  • Head Mods: I recommend either Kinetic OR Energy Targeting
  • Arm Mods: I recommend your preferred choice of Grenade Kickstart and Reloaders
  • Chest Mods: I recommend Unflinching mods of your choice
  • Leg Mods: I recommend Absolution, Better Already, Orbs of Restoration
  • Mark Mods: I recommend Reaper, Bomber, Outreach

Weapons

  • Kinetic Slot: I suggest using either a Kinetic Sniper or Shotgun. This frees up your energy slot for a void primary weapon, but using a primary in your kinetic slot instead of a Void special weapon is equally viable. Follow your instincts!
  • Energy Slot: Though it may sound unconventional, if we’re aiming to annoy opponents, I highly recommend Graviton Lance. This weapon fires a two-round burst that triggers a void explosion upon enemy kills, spawning Axion Bolt-like Void projectiles that track targets. It’s a fun and formidable weapon that can truly frustrate the enemy team.
  • Heavy Slot: This choice is entirely up to you. While it may not have as significant an impact in PvP, a Void Rocket Launcher pairs well with this build.

Stat Distribution

To maximize your survivability and Barricade uptime, prioritize 100 Resilience and at least 90 Recovery. Afterward, allocate your stats towards either Strength for faster Shoulder Charge recharge or Discipline for quicker grenade recharge.

Conclusion

This is hands down one of the most ability-focused PvP builds out there, and it’s an absolute blast to unleash its full potential. Give it a try next time you’re participating in Trials of Osiris or dipping your toes into the Iron Banner!
