How to Fix Diablo 4 Invisible Walls & Rubberbanding and Get to Cormond

The first season of Diablo 4 didn’t live up to players’ expectations. From gameplay and balance changes leading to review-bombing to long login queue times and other issues, it was a frustrating experience. One of the most annoying problems was the Diablo 4 invisible walls bug/glitch that prevented players from continuing the seasonal quest, making it impossible to reach the vital Cormond NPC.

When I tried Diablo 4 Season 1 at launch, it wasn’t the best experience. Despite the nerfs to Barbarians and all classes in terms of Vulnerable Damage and Crit Damage reductions, I created a character named “NerfThis” and embarked on the main seasonal questline. My goal was to prove that my best Spin to Win Whirlwind build could still work.

About an hour into the season, I encountered a frustrating roadblock. I couldn’t reach Cormond, the NPC who provided Malignant Heart crafting and the questline I needed to follow. Just before Cormond’s Wagon, I was confronted by an invisible wall. Luckily, judging by the numerous Reddit posts, I wasn’t alone in this struggle.

Players are being trapped by invisible walls that look like severe rubberbanding. This is undoubtedly a bug, but the good news is that Blizzard is aware of the issue. According to a moderator on the official Diablo 4 Discord server, the developers are working to resolve it. Hang in there!

How to Fix Invisible Walls & Rubberbanding in Diablo 4 Season 1

Blizzard is aware of the issue and will likely release a Diablo 4 hotfix update soon, most likely between July 22nd and 23rd, 2023. However, they haven’t provided an exact ETA at the time of writing.

Based on my experience, there isn’t a clear fix for the invisible walls and rubberbanding issues in Diablo 4 Season 1 that players can implement. I waited for over an hour before giving up. However, some players have reported that if you wait long enough, you might get lucky and pass through the invisible wall, allowing you to reach Cormond.
