How to Obtain Divinity in Destiny 2 (2023)

Destiny 2 boasts an impressive array of weapons, but some stand out for their exceptional effectiveness, one such example being the Divinity exotic Trace Rifle. Whether you’re delving into Grandmaster Nightfalls, raids, dungeons, or other challenging content, Divinity remains one of Destiny 2’s premier exotics, even after its introduction in the Shadow Keep expansion back in 2019. For newer players seeking to obtain Divinity in 2023, fret not, as we’re here to provide guidance!

Obtaining Divinity in Destiny 2

Getting your hands on Divinity is no walk in the park like acquiring older exotics in Destiny 2. You won’t find it available for purchase at any kiosks, nor is it a random drop based on luck. So, how exactly can you obtain it?

To embark on this quest, you’ll need to follow a convoluted path. We’ll present the steps concisely to avoid any confusion. Keep in mind that you must have the Shadowkeep expansion to proceed.

Step 1: Discover the Quest on the Moon

Start by heading to the Moon and make your way to the Sorrow’s Harbor Landing Zone. Once you’ve arrived, head straight until you reach the edge of the map, then turn right towards the red bridge visible in the distance. Continue until you reach the Lunar Battlegrounds area. After navigating a series of narrow corridors and encountering imposing Hive structures, take a left while following the wall until you come across a small gap. Pass through it and eliminate the enemies until a powerful yellow-bar boss spawns. Defeat it, and the quest officially commences when you pick up the Divine Fragmentation quest.

Step 2: Unraveling the Mystery

For this step, you’ll need to venture to Nessus and investigate Vex Cores in three different Lost Sectors:

  • The Orrery
  • Ancient Haunt
  • The Conflux

Vex Cores resemble typical luminous Vex structures and are relatively easy to spot within each Lost Sector. Upon discovering them, interact with the cores and eliminate the subsequent wave of enemies. Once the area is clear, interact with the cores once more to gather the required intel.

Step 3: Fragmenting Enemies

This step proves to be more straightforward. You must eliminate Vex foes either in the Garden of Salvation raid or during Vex Offensives on the Moon. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to go back in time to the Season of the Undying in 2019 and play it then. Your sole option now is to initiate the raid and accumulate the necessary kills. A total of 120 Sol Divisive Parts is required, so get to work!

Step 4: Confronting Nightmarish Cores

This stage involves visiting Eris Morn and using the Lectern of Enchantment to fashion an Empowered Decryption Core. You’ll need 30 Phantasmal Fragments, which can be obtained either by purchasing them from the Lectern or by farming them.

Step 5: Deciphering the Garden of Salvation

The final step is undeniably tedious and typically requires a visual guide to navigate effectively. We recommend referring to the embedded video below for a detailed walkthrough. In essence, you must locate several hidden rooms within the Garden of Salvation raid and solve puzzles utilizing the light tether mechanic prevalent throughout the raid. Needless to say, completing these puzzles demands a coordinated fireteam. Once you’ve conquered these challenges, proceed through the raid as usual, and in addition to potential other rewards, Divinity shall be yours!

The Power of Divinity

Divinity serves as an exceptional support weapon in high-end content. While it undoubtedly deals a respectable amount of DPS, the true value lies in its exotic perk, which surrounds the target with a debilitating field upon sustained damage, weakening and stunning them. This attribute particularly proves advantageous when facing Disruption Overload Champions.
