A Formidable Challenge in the Fractured Peaks
Strongholds are an integral part of the expansive open world in Diablo 4. These formidable fortresses offer not only a hefty amount of Renown but also unlock additional content, making them a highly sought-after achievement. However, conquering them is no easy task. The Kor Dragan Stronghold, located in the Fractured Peaks region, serves as a prime example of this challenging endeavor.
To embark on this quest, head northeast of Menestad or north of Kyovashad. Once there, brace yourself for the trials that await you within the Kor Dragan Stronghold.
Overcoming Obstacles in Kor Dragan
There are a couple of obstacles that may hinder your progress within Kor Dragan. Firstly, your character may need to gain more levels. While the Stronghold scales up to remain a few levels ahead of you, it’s crucial to note that additional skill points will greatly assist you in your battle. Craft a well-rounded build that combines defensive capabilities with devastating attacks capable of hitting multiple enemies; this will ensure a smoother path to victory.

Purge Kor Dragan of Vampiric Corruption
Upon entering Kor Dragan, take a moment to explore the surroundings. Soon enough, your objective will update to “Purge Kor Dragan of vampiric corruption.” At first glance, it might seem like defeating enemies is all that’s required. However, there is a more specific and nuanced objective to complete.
Check your minimap for three marked locations encircled by yellow areas. Within these areas, you’ll encounter unsavory fleshy vessels known as “Vampiric Corruption” and “Vampiric Incubators.” Disgusting, right? Initially, the Incubators are immune to damage. To weaken their defenses, you must first defeat three Vampiric Corruptions hidden at a slight distance away. Once these Corruptions are dealt with, the shields protecting the Incubators will dissipate. In other words, prioritize eliminating the Vampiric Corruptions before swiftly moving on to eradicate the Incubators.

Searching the entire marked area on your map will lead you to each objective without much trouble. You may encounter the need to scale walls or ascend to higher elevations, but these minor obstacles should not deter you. While clearing out any enemies that cross your path, remember that your main focus should be on the Corruptions and Incubators. Neglecting this priority may result in aimless grinding without making substantial progress.
Once you’ve successfully completed these objectives, follow the updated objective to the north side of the map.

Facing Nilcar, the Forgotten Bishop
As the boss of Kor Dragan, Nilcar poses a greater challenge, introducing new mechanics to test your skills. Within the arena, you’ll notice three incubators forming a triangle around Nilcar, who continuously infuses them with blood throughout the fight. Each incubator will spawn a formidable additional enemy once it ruptures. Defeating these enemies will temporarily stun them, but Nilcar has the ability to resurrect them as the battle progresses, ensuring a relentless assault.
To effectively counter this, focus your attacks on Nilcar and all accompanying foes simultaneously. The success of this strategy will depend on your build’s capabilities. Ensuring proximity to Nilcar will make it easier to handle the situation. However, be cautious of the Sanguine Inquisitor, who may prefer to keep their distance and pose a significant threat. If you find that you’re sustaining too much damage, prioritizing the elimination of the Inquisitor might be a wise choice.
Once Nilcar is defeated, claim your hard-earned loot and rekindle the Wanderer’s Shrine. Congratulations on successfully saving Kor Dragan from its plight!
