Destiny 2: Unveiling the Exotic Weapons of The Final Shape Expansion
Introduction
What exactly are the Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic weapons? With each expansion, one of the most exciting aspects is the introduction of new Exotic weapons and gear. Bungie has been going above and beyond in recent times, and we can’t wait to experience the firepower of the upcoming Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic weapons. Whether they become part of the best Destiny 2 weapons or best Destiny 2 PvP weapons remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure – they will be creative and worthy of the Exotic title. Not only will we be treated to brand-new Exotics, but some fan-favorite weapons from the original Destiny will also be making a comeback. Let’s take a closer look at what awaits us.
The Final Shape Exotic Weapons
So far, the Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic weapons that have been revealed are:
- Tessellation
- Dragon’s Breath
- Exotic Khvostov
- Red Death
- New Exotic sniper
- New Exotic Trace Rifle
These six new Exotic weapons were showcased during Bungie’s The Final Shape event in August 2023. It’s worth noting that Tessellation is already available as a pre-order bonus for The Final Shape expansion. The rest will be released either at the start of the expansion or throughout the Destiny 2 Episodes (formerly known as seasons) in The Final Shape.
Tessellation
Tessellation is an Exotic fusion rifle and one of the pre-order bonuses for The Final Shape. What sets it apart is its rare ability to adapt its damage type to match your equipped subclass, making it incredibly versatile. With Tessellation in your Energy Weapon slot, you can now run full Strand or Stasis loadouts if you have either of those subclasses equipped. Additionally, this weapon can absorb your grenade charge to unleash a devastating grenade launcher shot. Check it out in action in the trailer.
Dragon’s Breath
Yes, Dragon’s Breath is returning in The Final Shape. Previously seen in Destiny 1, this rocket launcher was often overlooked. It had the unique ability to create a damaging Solar Area of Effect on the ground after firing. We hope to see some exciting changes for its grand comeback.
Exotic Khvostov
In a nod to Destiny 1, Destiny 2 introduces its own Exotic variation of Khvostov, the first weapon you acquire in the game. You can catch a glimpse of it, along with other weapons mentioned in this guide, in the Final Shape Showcase footage.
Red Death
Another Destiny 1 favorite making a comeback is the Red Death Exotic pulse rifle. This weapon, equipped with a sinister bayonet, might bring some melee-based Exotic perk to the table when it arrives in The Final Shape. Although not showcased in concept art or in-game footage like the other weapons, its return was confirmed during Bungie’s showcase.
New Exotic Sniper Rifle
During the Final Shape showcase, a new Exotic sniper rifle was teased, and it sounds exhilarating. Chris Proctor, senior design lead on Destiny 2, imagines it as a sniper rifle version of Golden Gun – a Solar super for Hunters. This means it could deliver massive damage with a single shot or multiple slightly less powerful rounds. The concept art also features the emblem of a stag, which suggests that this sniper rifle will follow the Wild West theme of other Tex Mechanica weapons in Destiny 2.
New Exotic Trace Rifle
The Final Shape will also introduce a new Exotic trace rifle, as teased in Destiny 2’s showcase for the expansion. Although we only saw early concept art, this “incredibly dope” trace rifle takes inspiration from the terraforming beam released by the Traveler on the Witness’ pyramid ship in Lightfall.
In conclusion, these newly revealed Destiny 2 The Final Shape Exotic weapons have the potential to elevate the best Titan, Warlock, and Hunter builds to new heights through unique synergies. We can’t wait to get our hands on these Exotics and unleash their power on the battlefield.
