How to Obtain the Ragnhild-D Shotgun in Destiny 2 – Ideal for PvP and PvE

Numerous new weapons have been introduced with the Witch Queen Update. One of them is the Ragnhild-D shotgun, which excels in both crucible and PvE activities. In this article, we will discuss the optimal rolls for this weapon and how to obtain it.

Ragnhild-D: A Versatile Shotgun

Ragnhild-D is a kinetic legendary shotgun with an aggressive frame and a rate of fire of 55 RPM. It can be equipped with perks such as Subsistence, Perpetual Motion, One-Two Punch, and Demolitionist. Aggressive frame shotguns are highly effective in both PvP and PvE scenarios. The intrinsic perk of Ragnhild-D states, “Hard-hitting, high recoil. Increases rate of fire after kill”. Many Destiny 2 YouTubers have already showcased the weapon’s prowess through multiple videos.

The aesthetics of this shotgun are also appealing, providing a clear view for the wielder.

The default trait of the shotgun is “Hakke Breach Armaments,” which is not particularly useful for PvP users. Here’s the perk description from Light.gg:

• Hakke Breach Armaments: This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles, turrets, barricades, and Stasis crystals.

The following stats can vary depending on the drop you receive:

• Impact: 80
• RPM: 55
• Range: 35
• Stability: 36
• Handling: 40
• Reload Speed: 38
• Aim Assistance: 38
• Zoom: 16
• Recoil: 64

Ragnhild-D God Roll for PvP

Note: Once you obtain this weapon, you can reshape it by visiting The Enclave on Mars.

For optimal performance in PvP, consider the following rolls:

• Level 7 for Range Masterwork
• Full Choke or Rifled Barrel: These perks provide maximum range, essential for one-shotting guardians from a distance in Crucible.
• Perpetual Motion: While in motion, this weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed.
• Adrenaline Junkie: Grants increased damage and handling for final blows with grenades or this weapon.
• Hakke Breach Armaments: This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles, turrets, barricades, and Stasis crystals.

Full Choke and Accurized Rounds are must-have perks for any shotgun intended for PvP engagements.

Keep in mind that the concept of a “god roll” is subjective and can vary based on your preferred build. Personally, I find success running around with the shotgun on my warlock, utilizing a basic Transversive Steps build. Pairing this shotgun with the new void SMG, along with the new Void 3.0 build, proves to be a formidable combination in the crucible.

Now that we are familiar with the weapon’s capabilities, let’s explore how to acquire it.

Ragnhild-D God Roll for PvE

The beauty of this shotgun is that it occupies the Kinetic Slot, allowing you to pair it with excellent SMGs such as Riskrunner and the new Funnelweb.

For PvE activities, consider the following rolls:

• Level 7 for Range Masterwork
• Small Bore: Enhances stability and range.
• Assault Mag: Increases shotgun RPM by +5, along with stability.
• Subsistence: Refreshes 10-17% of the magazine with each kill, depending on the weapon type.
• Adrenaline Junkie or Demolitionist: Choose according to your preference. Personally, I lean towards Demolitionist due to the current potency of grenades. If Void 3.0 undergoes a nerf at some point, I will switch to Adrenaline Junkie.
• Hakke Breach Armaments: This weapon deals increased damage against vehicles, turrets, barricades, and Stasis crystals.

As with PvP rolls, keep in mind that the ideal roll can differ based on your chosen build.

How to Obtain the Ragnhild-D Shotgun

Now comes the challenging part – the Ragnhild-D shotgun cannot be obtained through a specific mission or farming method. Instead, you must complete missions in the Destiny world and rely on random legendary drops. Fortunately, the drop chance is reasonably good. I have acquired this shotgun six times without actively farming for it during the Witch Queen Campaign. Even some of my teammates were fortunate enough to obtain it, despite being unaware of its exceptional qualities.

If you have completed the campaign and have yet to obtain Ragnhild-D, I recommend playing the quest on your other two characters. I obtained Funnelweb while completing the quest on my alternate characters. If replaying the campaign doesn’t appeal to you, here are alternative methods to acquire this shotgun:

• Crucible
• Vanguard Strikes
• Umbral Engrams
• Dares of Eternity in Savathun’s Throne World
• Savathun’s Throne World Activities and Chests
• Any activity that drops legendary engrams
