Exploring the Collectibles: A Step-by-Step Guide
How to Reach The Jungle Region
To embark on your adventure in The Jungle, you must first complete the Favor: Scent of Survival in Vanaheim. This will lead you to the northern region of the map known as “The Plains.” From there, head south to access The Jungle region. It’s important to note that the path to The Jungle is only open at night, so be sure to change the time of day using the Celestial Altars marked in purple on the map, such as the Freyr’s Camp Mystic Gateway. We highly recommend completing The Jungle before searching for collectibles in The Plains and The Sinkholes, as this region plays a significant role in restoring the water flow throughout the entire map, allowing for thorough exploration. Consider it a prerequisite for completing The Plains and The Sinkholes.
Collectible #1 – Artifact (Kvasir’s Poems – An Organisation: In The Future)
This artifact is located in the southwestern part of The Crater. Enter the tunnel leading towards The Jungle (only accessible at night), and you’ll spot the artifact on the path, easily visible after a climbing section near a lifeless body. Keep an eye out for its distinctive purple glow.
Collectible #2 – Lore (Lore Marker – Unforgiven)
For this collectible, follow the waypoint for the Favor: Return of the River. After using an elevator, you’ll come across the lore marker on a wall just before blowing up another wall with a spear (be prepared for enemy encounters in this area).
Collectible #3 – Favor Item – Casualty of War: The Stein
After obtaining the lore collectible, destroy the yellow-glowing wall with your spear and squeeze through the gap. Inside, you’ll find a purple-glowing item on the left. Don’t forget to pick it up after defeating any enemies present. This item will initiate a favor.
Collectible #4 – Dragon Hunt (Favor: What Lies Below)
From the previous collectible, burn the red vines on the wall using purple runic arrows. Attack the arrows with your Chaos Blades to trigger a chain reaction. Once the vines are gone, use the turnable wheel to raise the floodgates and restore the water flow into the valley. Proceed to the location where the ghost/favor item was, and throw a spear at the wall. Use it as a swing point to reach the end of the path, where a Dreki boss fight awaits. Defeating this boss completes the Dragon Hunt.
Collectible #5 – Favor: Return of the River
After the Dreki boss battle, simply leave the area the same way you entered (through the gap). The favor will automatically complete as you make your way out.
Collectible #6 – Favor Item – Casualties of War: The Toy
With the water flow restored, the entire Jungle area is now open for exploration. Travel back down the elevator and hop into the boat at the beach. Navigate straight ahead until you reach the Mystic Gateway. On the island with the Mystic Gateway, you’ll find another ghost holding a quest item. Make sure to clear out any enemies before approaching the item.
Collectible #7 – Legendary Chest (Whisper of the World – Light Runic Attack)
Remain on the same island where the Mystic Gateway is located, and climb up the wall behind the Celestial Altar. Follow the climbing path until you reach the red vines. Use three triple purple runic arrows to burn the vines and clear the way (shooting multiple arrows at the same spot will create a wider radius of effect). Once the vines are gone, you can jump over to reach the legendary chest.
Collectible #8 – Nornir Chest
After obtaining the Legendary Chest, swing back to the area with the Mystic Gateway. Keep an eye out for three Nornir glyphs that must be struck with your axe until they display the correct symbols. The first glyph can be seen above the Celestial Altar as you make your way back from the Legendary Chest. The second glyph is located behind the Celestial Altar, hidden behind red vines that need to be burned. The third glyph can be found to the right of the Nornir Chest.
Collectible #9 – Odin’s Raven
Return to your boat and drive north, where ogres will hurl rocks at you. Dock your boat behind the island and eliminate the ogres. Once the last ogre has been defeated, a dragon will swoop in and snatch the corpse for its meal. This marks the beginning of the next dragon hunt. Before leaving, be sure to search for the raven perched above the red chest. It can be found in the same area where you defeated the ogres.
Collectible #10 – Favor Item – Casualties of War: The Toy
In the same location as the previous collectible, check the corner of the island across from Odin’s Raven. Retrieve the purple item present there. This should complete the “Casualties of War 1/1” favor in the region overview.
Collectible #11 – Dragon Hunt (Favor: Trail of the Dead)
This collectible can be found at the top of the area where the previous Legendary Chest was discovered. To reach it, backtrack to the island with the Mystic Gateway and climb up to the location of the Legendary Chest. Now that the ogres are no longer throwing rocks at you, you can scale the wall to reach the top of the area. Prepare yourself for a dragon encounter and vanquish the beast.
Collectible #12 – Seasonal Stag
Descend from the dragon encounter and return to the Mystic Gateway. Utilize the Celestial Altar to transition to daytime. This is crucial as it prompts the growth of certain plants necessary to access the collectible. Row your boat back to the island where the ogres and Odin’s Raven were located. Utilize Chaos Chains to clear the path, then walk on the roots and swing across (this is not possible at night). Once you’ve swung across, you’ll come face to face with the Seasonal Stag. IMPORTANT: Speak to the squirrel at Sindri’s House to obtain the quest item “YGGDRASIL LEAVES” before feeding the stag. Without this quest item, interaction with the stag is not possible. If you’ve forgotten to acquire the item, return to Sindri’s House via the Mystic Gateway and retrieve it before proceeding.
Collectible #13 – Legendary Chest (Jewel of Yggdrasil)
Continue along the path behind the stag until you reach the dragon’s den. Descend through the hole and throw your axe at the spinning object to raise the gate surrounding the hole. Once inside, you’ll find the Legendary Chest right in front of you, impossible to miss.
Collectible #14 – Lore (Rune Read – City of Possibility)
Located in the same room as the Legendary Chest, this lore collectible can be found on the wall next to the area where you threw the axe to raise the gate. Make sure to retrieve it before exiting the room.
Collectible #15 – Dragon Hunt (Favor: Path of Destruction)
From the Legendary Chest/Lore room, make your way out and engage in combat with the enemies present. Lure them back into the elevator and retrieve your axe to trap them. Pull the chain to raise the elevator, leading you to the dragon’s den. The enemies will act as bait, attracting the dragon’s attention and allowing you to defeat it. This should be the final task in the region if you have followed the outlined order. Note that this region is one of the largest and most extensive in terms of completion.
And there you have it! With these 15 collectibles, you will have successfully explored all that The Jungle has to offer in God of War Ragnarok.
