Are you in need of a study guide for Phase 1 of the Vykas Legion Raid in Lost Ark? Look no further! In this article, we will provide you with a cheat sheet that outlines the special mechanics you can expect during the battle. It’s important to note that we won’t be covering Vykas’ normal attack patterns, but rather focusing on the combat and puzzle mechanics that come into play as her HP bar decreases. Mechanics Walkthrough
Before the raid begins, every member of your party needs to choose a position for a special mechanic called X49. It’s recommended that each team member takes a corner position, forming what is known as the X-pattern. If we imagine the battlefield as a clock, one teammate should stand at one o’clock, another at five o’clock, the third at seven o’clock, and the final one at eleven o’clock.
Once Vykas’ HP bar drops to 55, she will split into two forms. One team will have to face the blue human boss, while the other team will have to confront the purple demon boss. The special mechanics we’ll discuss in this walkthrough are specific to the blue boss fight, but keep in mind that the purple boss has more HP. It’s important to remember that the purple boss’s attacks are inverted, meaning that the areas before the attacks land are actually safe zones.
When the blue boss teleports to the center, right before the orb puzzle at the 49th HP bar, make sure you position yourself within the white circle. Afterwards, guide the orb into the corresponding gate once they have the same color. For example, a green orb should go into a green gate, a white orb into a white gate, and so on. Follow the pattern shown in the picture to arrive at the correct timing. The orbs change their color in the following order: red, blue, green, white, black.

Next, be prepared for a stagger check at X36 HP. Once you deplete the stagger bar, check the color above your head. If it’s blue, head to positions 5 and 11 o’clock. If it’s black, go to positions 1 and 7 o’clock. Pay attention to the circles on the ground and memorize the pattern; it will indicate the order in which the orbs will appear. When the orbs do appear, make sure to catch them in your assigned color before they reach the boss.
Immediately after that, the blue boss will cast a red area-of-effect attack, which will either indicate a safe zone right next to the boss or at the edge of the battlefield. It’s crucial to communicate the position of the safe zone to the team fighting the purple boss, as they won’t receive a warning.
At X30 HP, the teams will switch bosses. Be prepared for X25 HP, as this will spawn four circles, with only one of them (the white one) being a safe zone for the purple team. Since only the blue team can determine which one is the safe zone, they will need to communicate this to the purple team.
After another stagger check at the twelfth HP bar (same as X36), you will finally clear Phase 1 of the Lost Ark Vykas Legion Raid.

Here’s a simplified version of the mechanics for Phase 1 of the Vykas Legion Raid:
Start of the fight: Assign positions.
- Player one: 1 o’clock.
- Player two: 5 o’clock.
- Player three: 7 o’clock.
- Player four: 11 o’clock.
HP bar X55-50: Boss splits into human (blue) and demon (purple) forms.
X49: Orb puzzle (blue boss). Take positions at 1 o’clock, 5 o’clock, 7 o’clock, and 11 o’clock.
- Orb color order: Red, blue, green, white, black.
X36: Stagger check (blue boss).
- Blue players go to 5 and 11 o’clock.
