Destiny 2 Wendigo GL3 Adept Guide: Mastering the Grenade Launcher

Destiny 2 players, brace yourselves for a significant overhaul in the weapon sandbox starting from Lightfall. Linear Fusion Rifles may become a thing of the past, but fear not, as Heavy Grenade Launchers will be receiving a 20% damage boost in Season 20. With that in mind, let’s dive into the Wendigo GL3, one of the most powerful weapons in the game.

Additional Details on the Wendigo GL3 Grenade Launcher

The Wendigo GL3 was once renowned as a potent Grenade Launcher in Year 2 and Year 3. Initially obtainable through a quest with curated perks, it has returned with additional perk options, offering even more damage potential against bosses and enemies.

Unlike Breech Grenade Launchers, Heavy weapons have the advantage of exploding their projectiles on direct impact. This makes it easier for players to rapidly fire at bosses and deal substantial damage within a short duration.

God Roll

To maximize boss DPS, it’s crucial to have the best perk combination. Opt for Quick Launch to enhance projectile velocity and handling on the weapon. Spike Grenades are a must for increased detonation damage on direct impact. Auto-loading Holster is also recommended, as it automatically reloads the weapon 4 seconds after holstering. Lastly, Full Court provides a significant 25% damage increase if a projectile is shot from 50 meters away.

Players can also consider using Frenzy and Explosive Light as damage perks. Frenzy increases outgoing damage by 15%, while Explosive Light boosts it by a massive 84%. However, activating the latter requires players to collect six orbs of light, so keep that in mind.

Obtaining the Destiny 2 Wendigo GL3 Adept Version

While the normal version of the Wendigo GL3 is functional, it’s always recommended to obtain the Adept version. Luckily, the requirements for Season 19’s Grandmaster Nightfall are relatively low, making it accessible to the majority of players before Lightfall arrives.

This week’s featured Strike is Warden of Nothing, which offers the Wendigo Adept as a guaranteed drop in the Platinum tier upon completing the Strike. Here are the modifiers and enemies you’ll encounter in the Grandmaster Warden of Nothing:

  • Void elemental shields
  • Solar burn
  • Four Overload Champions
  • Seven Unstoppable Champions
  • Ten Anti-Barrier Champions
  • Scorched Earth

Please note that you’ll have approximately six days during the final week to farm for the best perks for the weapon.

Best Loadouts for Fast Clears

For quick clears, consider utilizing a Starfire Fusion Warlock with Solar burn in the Nightfall. Combine it with Arbalest for Barrier Champions and Void primaries for Unstoppable, Overload, or Elemental Shields. The Doom of Chelchis from King’s Fall is a great weapon for Overload and Void shields, while the Exalted Truth Hand Cannon is effective against Unstoppable Champions and shields. To bring down the final Servitor boss in one phase, equip a combination of Well of Radiance, Gjallarhorn, and other Solar heavy weapons.

With these strategies and the Wendigo GL3 Adept in your arsenal, you’ll be ready to conquer any challenge Destiny 2 throws your way. Happy hunting, Guardians!
