Locating the Temple of Rot

To find the Temple of Rot Stronghold in Diablo 4, you must venture to the Southwestern region of the Dry Steppes. It is nestled between the Field of Hatred and Untamed Scarps.

For a quick journey to the Temple, utilize the Jirandai waypoint, located below Untamed Scarps. From there, head North until you reach your destination. If this region has not been unlocked yet, you’ll need to traverse the terrain on foot or by mount.

Once you’ve unlocked the region and the Jirandai waypoint, finding the Stronghold is a straightforward task. Refer to the image above for the exact location.

Clearing the Temple of Rot

To successfully clear the Temple of Rot Stronghold in Diablo 4, you must complete two main objectives:

  1. Defeat the four Elite Cannibal Champions: Arden, Bostar, Corpse Spawn, and Razorface.
  2. Conquer Molqarth, the Hungerer, who awaits you as the final boss of this Stronghold.

The Elite Cannibal Champions are spread across the Stronghold, each occupying a different corner. Before facing them, you must overcome the weaker enemies that guard their locations. Engage each Cannibal Champion individually, and once you emerge victorious, you will hear Molqarth’s voice, signaling the need to locate his Lair.

Defeating Molqarth the Hungerer

Molqarth the Hungerer presents himself as a bloated Cannibal, making him slower than other bosses in Diablo 4. Despite his intimidating appearance, defeating him is not an insurmountable task.

You must effectively counter and dodge his two main attacks:

  • Morningstar Smash: Molqarth launches heavy Morningstars, which can be easily dodged due to their range. However, if they connect, they will deal moderate damage.
  • Shockwaves: When enraged, Molqarth unleashes three shockwaves per attack. Recognize the pattern and dodge them to minimize damage.

Once you have triumphed over Molqarth the Hungerer, prepare yourself for an even greater challenge – the Spawn of Molqarth!

Defeating Spawn of Molqarth

Compared to Molqarth, the Spawn of Molqarth is a much more formidable foe with increased strength. Prepare yourself for three main attacks:

  • Claw Scythes: These beasts relentlessly chase you, inflicting damage with their razor-sharp claws.
  • Spread Pestilence: Molqarth uses this ability to infect you with toxins. Avoid the poisonous chambers to protect your character’s health.
  • Scythe Leap: Molqarth’s most potent attack, delivering higher intensity shockwaves. He performs this attack three times when his health drops below 50%.

Survive the onslaught of the Spawn of Molqarth, and victory will be yours!

Rewards

Upon defeating both variations of Molqarth, you will be rewarded with:

  • 100 Dry Steppes Renown
  • Gold
  • XP
  • Rare and Legendary items
