The Best Cannons in Mob Control: A Guide based on Experience

About the author

Mob Control may not be the most intricate game out there, but it certainly offers its fair share of challenges. The objective is simple: fling stickmen-like figures from a cannon strategically, utilizing various multipliers, all in an effort to overpower the enemy hordes. However, your success in the game may heavily rely on the type of cannon you possess. Presently, the game features seven different upgradeable cannons, each unlocking at different bases. In this article, we will provide you with the list of the best cannons to have in Mob Control, drawing from our extensive experience.

7. Regular Cannon

This is the cannon you start with as a beginner. Needless to say, it is far from being the best weapon in Mob Control, mainly because it shoots mobs one by one. Although you can level it up by spending coins at a rate of 0.1 mob per second, it pales in comparison to the other options available later on.

6. Big Bertha

Big Bertha becomes available when you reach Base 6 and is considered a more advanced cannon. However, we respectfully disagree. While its unique selling point is the ability to shoot huge mobs, it only manages a mere 0.9 mob per second at level 1. In fields with low multipliers and an overwhelming number of enemies, the size of your mobs might not be sufficient for victory.

5. Lucky Shot

Unlocked at Base 4, Lucky Shot isn’t our top pick due to the underlying uncertainty associated with its name. It boasts a firing rate of 4.14 mobs per second, making it a reliable choice even without any upgrades. However, it also randomly shoots a varying number of mobs, depending solely on luck. If you prefer a more predictable weapon, we suggest opting for another cannon that offers greater reliability.

4. Shotgun

Shotgun becomes available relatively early on, at Base 2. With its ability to shoot four mobs per shot, it is a formidable weapon, especially in fields with favorable multipliers. Furthermore, its initial firing rate of 3.42 mobs per second makes it even more powerful.

3. Rapid Fire

Choosing between Shotgun and Rapid Fire for third place was a challenging task. However, Rapid Fire gains a slight advantage due to its earlier unlock at Base 1 and easier upgrade process. Additionally, witnessing a constant barrage of mobs being fired at a solid level-one rate is somewhat more satisfying than Shotgun’s bursts of four.

2. Double

The Double cannon rightfully claims the second spot due to the expected results achieved when two cannons are joined together. However, acquiring this cannon requires some patience, as it unlocks only when you reach Base 9. At level 1, the Double cannon has a firing rate of 3.5 mobs per second.

1. Triple

Choosing first place was a bit of a dilemma, as it is currently locked behind a special offer paywall. If you’re willing to invest some real-life cash, you can obtain the Triple cannon at any point and effortlessly obliterate your enemies. Undeniably, it is the most powerful weapon in the game at the moment. Three combined cannons shoot an incredible 7.5 mobs per second at level 1, generating a wave of blue soldiers that will overwhelm any enemy they encounter.
