Destiny 2’s New Light quests serve as an introduction to the game’s mechanics and systems. Embarking on Risk/Reward

The first platoon and Dusk Captain can be found on a rooftop to your left, near where you initially spawn. The second platoon awaits on a building to your right, and the final Dusk Captain appears on the building opposite your starting point. Take them all out to proceed.
Finding the Locked Gate
After defeating the Dusk Captains, you will be tasked with finding a locked gate that leads to Cayde-6’s weapons stash. Retrace your steps and head back the way you came, making your way through the enemies lurking in your path. If you ever feel lost, rely on your Ghost to provide guidance. Follow the quest marker until you spot a door on your left. Enter it, and continue on the path, eliminating any threats that come your way.
Traversing the Chasm: Jumping Puzzle Guide
As part of the Risk/Reward quest, you will encounter your first major jumping puzzle. This challenge aims to introduce new players to the platforming mechanics in Destiny 2. Depending on your class, you may have different jump abilities. Hunters often utilize the Triple Jump, Titans prefer Catapult Jump for speed or High Lift for height, and Warlocks have various options to choose from. Experiment and find the jump that suits you best.
Upon reaching the Chasm, you will need to leap across to a ledge opposite you. From there, your Ghost will guide you to the next platform. Follow its directions, hopping from ledge to ledge, until you reach a well-lit doorway. Your Ghost will then point you towards a high platform. Obtaining Riskrunner: Enter the Fallen Nest
Once you have successfully traversed the chasm, you will arrive at one of Cayde-6’s hidden stashes. Inside, you will find the Arc Conductors, which will allow you to claim the Riskrunner Exotic SMG. This weapon is a valuable addition to any guardian’s arsenal. After obtaining Riskrunner, follow your Ghost to the Fallen nest. Descend through the drop-down duct, making sure to break your fall to avoid unnecessary damage. The nest will be populated by Fallen enemies, providing the perfect opportunity for you to test out your new weapon.
Riskrunner shines when facing enemies that deal Arc damage. Upon taking Arc damage, the weapon’s Arc Conductor perk activates, causing bolts of lightning to chain to nearby enemies after each kill. This perk also refreshes its duration. As most of the Fallen enemies use Arc-based attacks, you will have ample opportunity to experience Riskrunner’s devastating power. Additionally, Riskrunner provides increased resistance to Arc damage while its perk is active.
After eliminating the majority of enemies in the Fallen nest, you will face off against Haviks, Dusk Baron, the quest’s final boss. It is advisable to utilize your Special, Heavy, or Super abilities to defeat the boss efficiently. Once the boss is defeated, you will be teleported back to Orbit, completing the Risk/Reward quest and progressing A Spark of Hope far enough to allow you to speak with Zavala and turn it in.
