Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen Introduces an Exotic Bow and New Exotic Armor

Destiny 2’s Season of the Chosen has arrived, allowing Guardians to embark on thrilling adventures in the world of Destiny and acquire formidable new equipment. Alongside an array of Legendary weapons and armor, Season of the Chosen unveils at least five new Exotics, though one remains shrouded in mystery.

Ticuu’s Divination

Ticuu's Divination

Ticuu’s Divination serves as the Season Pass weapon for Season of the Chosen. Its primary Exotic perk, Sacred Flame, transforms arrows into tracking missiles that lodge themselves into enemies when fired from the hip. If an enemy perishes with these Sacred Flame arrows embedded in them, they detonate, setting nearby arrows ablaze. Additionally, players can manually trigger detonations with the Causality Arrows perk. By carefully timing their arrow draws, Guardians can unleash even more powerful Sacred Flame explosions.

Cuirass of the Falling Star

Titans eagerly anticipate the arrival of Cuirass of the Falling Star, an Exotic armor piece that enhances the Thundercrash ability. Its primary perk, Glorious Charge, significantly amplifies the impact damage dealt by Thundercrash. Additionally, players gain an overshield and can extend its duration by covering greater distances during their Thundercrash traversal. Though its full potential remains uncertain, it appears to be the Titan’s equivalent of Celestial Nighthawk for the Code of the Missile subclass.

Omnioculus

Hunters gain access to Omnioculus, a potent tool tailored for challenging engagements like Grandmaster Nightfalls. Beyond the Veil, its unique perk, grants Void Hunters an additional Smoke Bomb charge and reduces damage taken while invisible. This damage resistance extends to allies when they are rendered invisible, and Hunters replenish some melee energy upon rendering allies unseen.

Mantle of Battle Harmony

Warlocks wield the formidable Mantle of Battle Harmony, another valuable asset for Grandmaster Nightfalls. Absorption Cells, its distinctive perk, grants bonus Super energy for kills made with weapons that match the player’s subclass element. When the Super is already charged, these kills bestow increased damage for the corresponding element. This Exotic holds great promise for Solar Warlocks in demanding encounters such as raids and Nightfalls, where Well of Radiance Warlocks often conserve their Super for critical moments.

Tex Mechanica Exotic Quest

Destiny 2 Season of the Chosen Exotic quest derelict ship
Bungie associates this ship with an upcoming Exotic quest

On the Season of the Chosen website, Bungie has tantalized players with a “redacted” entry regarding an Exotic quest in the gear section. Curiously, this quest does not feature on Season of the Chosen’s roadmap. The quest icon depicts what appears to be the Tex Mechanica logo, a legendary weapon manufacturer responsible for crafting The Chaperone, Last Word, and Huckleberry. Stasis appears to surround the logo.

Little is known about this enigmatic weapon and its release date. With Bungie withholding even its name, speculation arises as to whether it could be The First Curse, a formidable hand cannon from the original Destiny, or an entirely new creation, as suggested by a Destiny data miner. Players must exercise patience and await further details, although Bungie’s press images associate a derelict ship in space with this upcoming Exotic quest.
