Using Brimstone as your primary Controller agent on Haven may seem unconventional due to the limited range of his smokes. However, Riot Games purposely balances agent abilities, and Brimstone’s Incendiary ability plays a crucial role in any team composition, making him a valuable pick despite being one of the Beta agents.
Attack Strategies with Brimstone
Attacking A Site Brimstone Lineups
Default Post Plant Incendiary from A Short
In post-plant situations on Haven, this lineup is essential for Brimstone on the attacking team. To execute this lineup, position yourself in the small corner of A Short. Look up and aim for the spot where the tree meets the box. The Incendiary will then fly over the wooden box, bounce off the wall, and land on the default plant spot.
Default Post Plant Incendiary from A Long Cubby
If you prefer playing further back and combining utility with your teammates, this lineup is for you. Climb on top of the bags in the cubby on A Long. Look up and locate the corner of the building, ensuring the tip of the molly icon aligns with it. With a successful lineup, the Incendiary will cover the default plant spot on the A site. Combine it with well-timed smokes on A Tunnel and A Heaven to make defusing the spike a challenging task for the defenders.
Attacking B Site Brimstone Lineups
B Default Plant Spot from Mid Courtyard
Due to the compact nature of the B site, defenders often prefer playing off-site during post-plant situations. These Brimstone lineups allow you to prevent the defuse without exposing yourself to danger. Stand next to the wall in Mid Courtyard and face the B entrance. Aim at the side of the entrance, aligned with the horizontal wooden plank on the wall. The Incendiary will bounce off the entrance and land on the default plant spot, effectively preventing the defuse and aggressive pushes.
B Default Plant Spot from Mid Window
Similar to the previous lineup, this one is executed from Mid Window. While using this lineup, you can also wall bang the wall to further discourage defusing. Aim for the top border of the white rectangle on the wall and fire the lineup. The Incendiary will bounce off and land on the default plant spot, making defusing on the B Site a nightmare for the opposition.
B Right Corner Plant Lineup from Mid Courtyard
Covering the right side of the B site toward A Link, this lineup complements the previous lineups that cover the middle and left side of the plant spot. Position yourself in the corner under Mid Window and aim for the spot on the wall indicated by the vertical red wooden plank. Aim slightly above it, under the roof, and execute the lineup to secure the right side of the plant spot.
Attacking C Site Brimstone Lineups
C Default Plant Spot from C Long
As we highlighted in our Haven map guide, planting in the open and playing off-site is an effective attacking strategy on Haven. This lineup aligns with that approach, planting on the default spot at C and then rotating towards C Long. Position yourself in the corner on C Long and aim slightly up and to the left of the white horizontal line on the side of the mountain. The Incendiary will bounce off the Garage wall and land on the default plant spot.
C Default Plant Spot from Cubby
If you prefer a closer approach, this lineup is ideal for you. Position yourself in the Cubby on C Long and locate the corner of the roof. Aim slightly to the right so that the Incendiary bounces in that direction and execute the lineup. The Incendiary will land on the default plant spot, forcing any defenders attempting to defuse the spike to retreat and providing you with easy kills as you peek when they scatter.

Defending/Retake Strategies with Brimstone
Defending A Site Brimstone Lineups
A Heaven Plant Deny Lineup
If you rotate early during a retake and learn that the spike has not been planted, use these lineups to prevent the plant entirely. This lineup is relatively simple—aim in the middle of the four wooden boxes and execute the Incendiary. It will bounce off the boxes and land precisely on the default plant spot. If Heaven is smoked off, use the window as a guide. Aim slightly above it and strafe to the right to position yourself on the window.
A Link Plant Deny Lineup
From A Link, you can execute a similar lineup that, when combined with your Stim Beacon and Brimstone’s Orbital Strike, creates a powerful entrance. Position yourself in the corner of A Link and aim for the white section on the right side of the angle. The Incendiary will bounce off the wall, and when accompanied by well-placed smokes that cut off sightlines, it becomes a formidable obstacle for attackers. Throw down a Stim Beacon as you enter and use your ultimate ability on A Short. With these tactics, Brimstone can single-handedly carry rounds.
Other Good Incendiary Lineups on A Site
While these lineups are not specific, they serve as effective places to use your Incendiary to slow down or prevent pushes in choke points and tight corridors. Use this lineup to clear out the corner that attackers often hold to avoid flashes and to spam through smokes. Alternatively, you can employ this lineup to halt an A Short rush by combining it with a well-placed smoke. Typically, opponents are wary of pushing through such a lineup, unless they are playing as Jett or Raze.
Another valuable lineup is executed when opponents attempt to push up A Long. If you hear them taking the ultimate orb and trying to push through your smoke, use this lineup. The Incendiary will bounce off the wall and land between the team, effectively splitting them into two groups. Combined with your ultimate ability, this lineup can be deadly for the attacking side.
Defending C Site Brimstone Lineups
C Link Plant Deny Lineup
Brimstone’s ultimate ability is best utilized for denying plants, and this lineup greatly enhances its effectiveness. Combined with your ultimate, it can force defenders off their angles as your team swarms in. Position yourself in the corner of C Link and look upwards until you spot the wooden log sticking out. Aim slightly to the left of the log and execute the lineup. The Incendiary will bounce on top of the green box and land precisely on the default plant spot.
Other Good Incendiary Lineups on C Site
Preventing a push on the C site becomes more manageable when playing as Brimstone, thanks to your Incendiary and smokes. Use any of these lineups to prevent the C Long push and clear the Cubby, but make sure to survive while deploying them, as they are crucial for the retake. Additionally, this lineup in Connector is highly effective, as it funnels the enemy team towards C Link, slowing down their push and allowing for a successful flank.
