Evony: The King’s Return | The Ultimate Guide to Generals

Generals play a crucial role as leaders in the popular mobile game, Evony: The King’s Return. They lead armies, gather resources, battle monsters and bosses, and even participate in PvP battles. They are also responsible for fortifying the city’s defenses and acting as mayors of subordinate cities. If you’re looking for complete information on Generals in this game, you’ve come to the right place. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll cover everything you need to know, including general types, attributes, equipment and skills, and how to improve your general.

General Types

The quality of a general can be determined by the color of their card. Currently, there are five categories: Gold (Epic), Purple (Legendary), Blue (Rare), Green (Uncommon), and Grey (Common). Legendary Generals, in particular, boast significantly higher attributes than Common Generals. Additionally, there’s a special classification known as Historic Generals. These generals are named after real-world historical military leaders from six different cultures, such as King Arthur (European), Washington (America), Oda Nobunaga (Japan), Jumong (Korea), Empress Wu (China), and Catherine II (Russia), among others. Notable figures like Caesar, Genghis Khan, and Alexander the Great also make appearances in the game. Additionally, there are two Historical Generals unique to Evony: King’s Return’s Mythos – Raged King and Princess Lucy.

Attributes

Attributes are traits that have a significant impact on a general’s performance. Each general has four attributes: Leadership, Attack, Defense, and Politics.

  • Leadership: Increases the training speed of subordinate cities and the increment of gold production.
  • Attack: Enhances troop attack and troop HP.
  • Defense: Improves troop defense and reduces troop death to wounded rate.
  • Politics: Enhances construction speed and resource gather speed, and increases march speed.

Generals’ Equipment and Skills

Generals can be equipped with six different pieces of gear: Weapons, Clothes, Boots, Helmets, Pants, and Rings. Each equipment piece provides unique buffs to the general wearing them. Additionally, you can assign various skills to your generals that provide buffs to their roles in sub-cities, marching, defending, and even reducing revival time. Skills can be assigned using Skill Books, which come in Levels 1, 2, and 3. The higher the skill level, the greater the buff. However, remember that assigning a higher-level skill will replace any existing skill. Skill stacking is not possible, and you can’t downgrade skills either.

Historic Generals come with unique skills that offer even greater buffs than Level 3 Skill Books. Some unique skills do not have corresponding Skill Books, making them exclusive to certain generals. For example, Jester’s Atrophy skill, which decreases opponents’ attack stats, is only available if you have Jester in your lineup.

Enhancing and Cultivating a General

You have the option to enhance your general, which increases their star rating. Enhancing requires gold and medals and boosts both the general’s basic attributes and level booster stats. Each attribute gains a certain number of points per level boost. Cultivating a general takes the enhancement process a step further, allowing you to increase specific attributes by spending gold or gems. Cultivating 10x at once costs 200 gems and lets you select which attributes to enhance. Keep in mind that cultivated attributes cannot exceed the general’s original attributes and will stop increasing after reaching the maximum limit.
