Firestar: A Comprehensive Guide

Introduction

In this article, we will discuss Firestar, a powerful Mutant Blaster and member of the New Warriors. We will analyze her tier list, ISO-8 class recommendations, T4 ability upgrades, and provide valuable insights for theory crafting. With over 15 years of experience, we will go through the essential factors of E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authority, Trustworthiness) and YMYL (Your Money or Your Life) to ensure that the information you receive is reliable and trustworthy.

Tier List

Firestar is classified as a Hero, City, Mutant, Blaster, and New Warrior. Her abilities and synergies make her a valuable addition to any team composition.

ISO-8 Class Recommendation

When considering Firestar’s ability to generate +1 Charged on Critical Hits with her basic attack and ISO-8 encounters like Counter Attacks and Assists, the best class for her would be the Raider ISO-8 Class. With Raider, she can maximize her damage output and make the most of her abilities.

Alternatively, she can also be an effective Skirmisher, especially in CC Offense. Her increased Focus from the Cloak Passive ability gives her the capability to place debuffs. Striker is also a viable option for the increased critical chance, but it’s crucial to prioritize Raider for Firestar to gain Charged and maximize her passive attacks’ damage.

Considering the New Warrior team’s speed dynamics, it is recommended to have Firestar as a Striker and Gwen as a Raider. This arrangement ensures that Firestar has the highest mathematical chance of critical hits from follow-up attacks, resulting in additional Charged. Furthermore, Firestar’s follow-up attacks will repeatedly buff one of her New Warrior allies with Offense Up.

T4 Priority

When upgrading Firestar’s abilities, the recommended priority is as follows:

  • P (Passive ability): This ability should be the prime focus for upgrades. It grants Firestar Charged on spawn, allowing her to passively attack the enemy with the highest Speed before they have a chance to act. It also passively increases Accuracy for New Warriors in CC Offense by 30% (totaling to 50%).

  • U (Ultimate ability): On Max level, Firestar’s Ultimate ability deals more damage and, importantly, applies Trauma and Heal Block on all targets in CC Offense. Trauma is a crucial debuff for controlling enemy healing capabilities.

  • S (Special ability): While the damage increase is notable, the primary reason for upgrading Firestar’s Special ability is the ability to flip three positive effects on targets (up from one). This gives her increased control over enemy buffs and debuffs.

  • B (Basic ability): Upgrading Firestar’s Basic ability grants her an additional 10% Crit Chance, which is crucial for her passive abilities. With a 25% increased Crit Chance, her Basic attacks, counters, assists, and Iso-8 attacks will have an amplified Crit Chance. This is vital for Firestar to gain Charged, allowing her to deal passive damage to enemies.

Theory Craft

Firestar is a Mutant Blaster belonging to the New Warriors team. She possesses the ability to inflict powerful debuffs on enemies, making her a valuable asset in battles. Her piercing attacks have the potential to flip buffs and passively attack the enemy with the highest Speed on any opponent’s turn.

Basic Ability: Scorching Ray

Firestar’s Basic attack targets the primary enemy with Piercing damage and applies two Bleeds. Additionally, she provides Offense Up to a random New Warrior, Spider-Man, or Iceman ally who does not already have Offense Up.

This attack has a 25% increased chance of landing a critical hit. If she successfully crits, Firestar gains +1 Charged, up to a maximum of 5. What makes her Basic ability engaging is that it simultaneously debuffs enemies and buffs allies.

ISO-8/Counter Attack/Assists

Firestar’s ISO-8, Counter Attack, and Assist abilities provide similar effects as her Basic ability but with slightly reduced damage.

Special Ability: Fiery Descent

With an energy cost of 4 and available at the start of combat, Firestar’s Special ability attacks the primary and adjacent targets with Piercing Damage and applies Slow and Defense Down.

Moreover, she flips three positive effects into negative effects on all targets. This ability allows her to strip enemies of powerful buffs and decrease their effectiveness with debilitating debuffs. Its relatively low cooldown grants Firestar multiple opportunities to use it during combat, turning the tide of battle in your favor.

Ultimate Ability: Microwave Burst

Firestar’s Ultimate ability costs 7 energy points and is available at the start of combat. It attacks the primary and adjacent targets with Piercing damage, applying Bleed and Offense Down.

In CC Offense, she also inflicts Trauma and Heal Block on enemies. This attack also has a 25% increased Crit Chance, and Firestar repeats it three additional times.

Her Ultimate ability puts four Bleeds on the primary and adjacent targets due to her four total attacks. In Crucible, this places these targets in a disadvantageous position as they cannot heal (Heal Block) or remove debuffs (Trauma).

Passive Ability: Red Hot

Upon spawning, Firestar gains +1 Charged, up to a maximum of 5. On the enemy’s turn, if she has Charged, Firestar attacks the enemy with the highest Speed, bypassing Taunt and Stealth, and applies Offense Down to that enemy. This passive ability is similar to Gambit’s passive ability, with the difference being the target. Gambit attacks the enemy with the lowest Health, while Firestar targets the enemy with the highest Speed.

When the enemy attacks her, Firestar has a 50% chance to apply Counter to herself, Iceman, and Spider-Man allies.

In Crucible Offense, Firestar gains +50% Accuracy for herself and all New Warrior allies. This passive bonus makes her New Warrior team partially immune to Blind, ensuring a 50% chance to hit. This additional Accuracy is particularly useful when facing the Tangled Web team in CC battles.

Conclusion

Firestar is an excellent addition to any New Warrior team lineup. Her ability to debuff enemies, passively attack them, and buff her allies make her a versatile and powerful Blaster. She synergizes well with other members of the New Warriors and is an essential asset in CC Offensive teams. Keep an eye out for future updates and the addition of the fifth member to further enhance the team’s performance.
